The US Public Health Service Centers for Disease Control (CDC) honored the City of Tipton, Iowa, water system with the Water Fluoridation Quality Award this week.

Recognizing consistent efforts in “maintaining fluoride levels in the water system within the range considered optimum for the prevention of tooth decay;” the Iowa Department of Public Health stated their appreciation for “…the work of [water department staff] in supporting public health through excellent operation of the fluoridation system…” The system is operated by Alliance Water Resources, Inc., through a contract agreement with the City.
