Bo Stinnett has been named Public Works Manager for the City of Bowling Green with Alliance Water Resources. Stinnett, however, is not a new face to Alliance.

He started with the company in 1995 as an operation supervisor until his promotion to manager. He holds licenses in water distribution, collection, and treatment of water and wastewater.

Stinnett has seen first-hand the challenges involved with his position. “It is a lot of responsibility,” said Stinnett. “There is a lot of people depending on you to do a good job and make the right decisions.”

Stinnett commented that the recent decisions involving the city water conservation have been especially difficult. He said it was difficult telling citizens that their water usage would be limited. Stinnett said he has to look at the bigger picture and make decisions that will benefit the entire city.

Stinnett said he has been overwhelmed by all of the support he has received from Bowling Green City Hall, the Board of Aldermen, the Bowling Green Police Department, and all the citizens of the City of Bowling Green.

“Thanks to all the people who have supported me throughout this process,” said Stinnett. “I appreciate it.”

Stinnett said his new position will not change the way he does his job. He sees a lot of growth for the City of Bowling Green in the future.

“I want to assist Bowling Green in any way that I can,” he said. “I just take it one day at a time.”
