The City of Bowling Green, Mo. will receive $275,000 from Missouri Department of Corrections by June 2005. These funds are the final back payment for water and wastewater services provided to the Northeast Correctional Center by the City. This settlement has been eight years in the making.

Bowling Green Mayor Perkins gives much credit to Senator Cauthorn, City Administrator Dan Gruen and Public Works Manager for Alliance Water Resources Terry Merritt. The team and others spent many hours meeting with state senators, representatives and the Department of Corrections to resolve the matter.

These funds will allow the City to complete major systems upgrades without rate increases to the citizens of Bowling Green.
