Each year, the Flying Eagle Safety Award is presented to a division in each of two categories (based on size and number of employees) who score the highest on their annual safety audits. Safety audits cover such areas such as appropriate number and topics of safety meetings held, overall safety improvements throughout the division, annual record of injury/illness/accidents, and a self-audit of several of the AWR safety programs as they are relative. Award recipients receive a trophy at the February Manager meeting following the tabulation of the safety audit scores.

The Flying Eagle Safety Award was developed to emphasize the importance the company places on employee safety. Mark Mahler, Director of Safety & Regulatory Compliance, says “The safety of our employees is of the highest priority and this is one way to promote the great work everyone does to achieve that goal.”

Mahler says they are proud of all the Alliance divisions for the diligent safety practices they employ.
