Terry Merritt, public works manager for the City of Bowling Green, has joined the Board of the Missouri section of the American Water Works Association.

Merritt was inducted at joint meeting of the Missouri section of the American Water Works Association and Missouri Water Environment Association in Osage Beach, Mo., in March.

His responsibilities will include co-chairing a state-wide poster contest for Drinking Water Week in 2008. Previously, Merritt won the association\'s Operator’s Meritorious Service Award and has presented at conference meetings.

Merritt works for Alliance Water Resources, Inc. The City of Bowling Green contracts with the company to operate and maintain the city\'s public works functions. He has served as public works manager since 1998.
