Wastewater Supervisor Steve Sparks has received the Missouri Water Environment Association\'s Collection Systems Award. The award, given for significant contributions to the field of wastewater collection systems, also grants Sparks membership in the exclusive Golden Manhole Society of the association.

Sparks is an employee of operations company Alliance Water Resources. He received the award at the joint conference of Missouri Water Environment Association and Missouri section American Water Works Association at Osage Beach, Mo. in March.

Working at both Public Water Supply District #2 of St. Charles County and the East Central Missouri Water and Sewer Authority, Sparks is responsible for collections, pumping and wastewater treatment system operations.
